Onward and Upward

"Onward and Upward". The theme of this mosaic mural was the success and struggle of the kokanee salmon. This subject symbolized the continuing success of the community center. Onward and Upward was partially funded by the Coeur d' Alene Tribe of Native Americans and by the Jacklin Cultural Arts Center with a budget of $5,000.

It involved community collaboration by 35 individuals. A source of pride is the participant names included within the mosaic. It is fabricated from concrete sculptures embellished with glass mosaic and epoxy grout on a brick fireplace. It is installed on an outdoor patio where many community events take place at the Jacklin Cultural Arts Center in Post Falls, ID.
